INTERIOR MEBEL KIEV 2019 PROVED AGAIN TO BE A SUCCESS
The 8th edition of Interior Mebel Kiev – International Exhibition of Furniture, Lighting and Décor – was again a success. Manufacturers, leading brands and local showrooms participated in this trade event, where they could display the latest novelties and trends of this sector.
This year the event saw an increase in the exhibitors’ number: 192 companies from Italy, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom, Portugal, Turkey, the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, the United States, Czech Republic and Ukraine. Among them, some key brands in the furniture, lighting and décor sectors such as Poliform, Veneta Cucine, Porada, Grilli, Arketipo, Midj, Mardegan Legno, Daytona, Cattelan, Cornelio Cappellini, Lualdi, Smeg, Natuzzi and many others.The new area dedicated to ceramics, bathroom furniture, flooring, coverings and doors has been reconfirmed. Professionals and visitors could appreciate the products of companies such as Antonio Lupi, Flaviker, Bliss Ceramics, Dado Ceramica, Arbi Arredobagno, Graniti Fiandre, Ariana, Cotto Petrus, Antica Rubiera, Artesi, just to name a few.
Also this year the exhibition had a considerable number of trade visitors and public from Kiev, different regions of Ukraine and abroad. Thousands of professionals had the opportunity to appreciate the world of contemporary design, as well as the excellent booth presentation of the leading companies of this sector.
Interior Mebel has gathered not only Italian and International but local excellences as well, represented by the selection of the best Ukrainian design brands; an area dedicated to local creativity to admire the products of the architect and designer Yuriy Ryntovt, Loft Buro stand by Oleg Volosovsky, Prostir86 space displaying different products from the country’s most creative designers, refined kitchens by Blanc, furniture by Zegen, the creative pop-art stand of the Artspace award and the ID.Interior Design magazine by Yury Zimenko, in addition to many others.
Those who were interested in the world of design and architecture as well as in the professional sphere, had the possibility to attend the extensive program of Conferences, Master-classes and discussions held by internationally renowned Italian architects and designers and by the most famous Ukrainian ones.
The traditional Interior Mebel’s project – the Auditorium, the hub of design and an important meeting point for Conferences, Master Classes and debates – was designed in 2019 by the British-Ukrainian architect Natalia Shchyra. The international dialogue was introduced by the designer Francesco Meda, who shared with the public the experience of self-production and collaboration with well-known brands, including Molteni, Kartell, Colos and Luce di Carrara. The architect Simone Micheli presented an overview of the works of his Studio with a focus on Hotel & Wellness, as well as the new design concepts for emerging talents at the IED – Istituto Europeo di Design.Oleg Volosovsky, one of the most important Ukrainian architects, held two incomparable Master-classes, including the meeting-discussion with Simone Micheli, during which, in an international dialogue, the two experts could discuss about the latest trends in the world of design and architecture.Trade visitors could take part in the meeting-discussion among professionals about plagiarism issues on design products in Ukraine, moderated by PRAGMATIKA magazine. Moreover, the designer Elena Fateeva, the illustrator Lilit Sarkysyan, the architect Olga Bogdanova, the designer and curator of EDS – European School of Design Olga Terefeeva, Anastasia Kovaleva with the TV program Design Tour and the designer Yuriy Runtovt and many others.
At Interior Mebel 2019, EBRD and EU4Business organized a space dedicated to B2B meetings between Ukrainian furniture manufacturers and dealers, architects and designers from Israel who had the opportunity to meet several leading Ukrainian furniture producers, which were selected with the help of the Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers.
During the 4 exhibition days segment professionals could sign contracts and discuss business strategies, while trade visitors and final consumers enjoyed the high level of the event and of the products displayed.
The next edition of Interior Mebel will take place in Kiev on 5-8 February 2020.
